Relocating LP12 have a couple of questions for the forum members

Morning all after a bit of advice before going any further.
I have relocated my LP12 into a purpose built unit in my office which backs onto the lounge wall directly behind the equipment rack.
At the moment the LP12 and the Rega Phono are in the unit, the interconnect from the phono stage to the 282 goes through the wall and has worked out well, so my questions are:

  1. Any reason why I shouldn’t run the Ethernet cable from my switch to my streamer through the same hole?
2.Would it be a good or bad idea to move the napsc into the unit as well, it would be pretty close to the phono stage, maybe 300mm apart(possible interference issue maybe?) and the feed from the napsc would run through the same hole as the rest of the cables.
I’m trying to tidy up the rack to try and make room for a xps for the ndac.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated before I start physically moving everything around, many thanks.

Some pictures of both sides would to illustrate what you want to do.

But based on what you’ve said, the Ethernet cable and the phono lead should both be OK as they are essentially signal cables.

The advice for the NAPSC is to have it as far away as possible. If on the same unit as the switch, then put it right down on the bottom of the unit, even below the unit, but the power lead should have its own hole.

At the moment it’s a work in progress, the TT relocation has worked fine bit of tidying up and decorating to do just wondering if I could move the napsc as well, at the moment it is clear of the rack but sits on the floor which although behind a chair I would like to relocate it just to tidy things up a little, you can just make it out in the secound pic.
Just to answer your question, only signal wires going through the wall no power cables👍

Looking at your last photo it appears that your turntable is only a couple of inches above the floor? If so, I would be cautious about putting a NAPSC under it. The turntable and phono stage are the most sensitive bits of equipment in this respect. Better to put it under the main rack if it will fit. I would also consider moving that switch away from it, and moving its power supply as far from the TT as possible.

Hi Chris it’s a work in progress, noted all your points, thanks, putting the napsc down in the lower section of the cabinet isn’t a problem, switch can be moved as well.
So would end up with the ethernet cable from the switch, the phono leads from the rega phono stage and the low voltage cable from the napsc all going through the wall at the same point, hopefully this will not cause an issue.
Certainly makes the rack set up look tidier which keeps mrs s happy and will free up shelf space for the xps, hopefully.

It may be better to route the phono stage to preamp cable away from the others, but you can test this by powering down the switch and putting the NAPSC elsewhere. If there’s no change to the sound don’t worry about it.
