I recently purchased a Naim CD5X with a Flatcap 2x and it sounds great. The seller no longer had the remote and it is set to use the RCA connections. I want to change it to the DIN connection but I a remote is needed is my understanding. I am new to Naim and found a Naim SuperUniti remote locally and read that it should work but I am having no luck. I can see the infrared signal when pressing the buttons with the phone camera trick. Is there a sequence I should follow to set this remote up with my equipment? I hit the CD button then DISP and no change. Greatly appreciate any tips or suggestions.
A streamer/Uniti remote won’t work. You need a Narcom, any generation will do. The last/current one is the Narcom 5.
Thanks. I’ll start the search. There are lots of third party replacement remotes. Have you had any experience with any of these?
No, there are plenty of RC5 protocol remotes that will operate most functions, but not all, and in particular not the ones unique to Naim (I.e. programming). Look for a Naim Narcom.
