Getting into a wood burning stove - not very wise

Wise enough to only do it in the summer. 
I suspect its looking for a second brood space on the top of the chimney stack. They lay what looks like a few twigs and lay a couple of eggs. Stick offer no comfort as far as I can see but stop the egg(s) rolling. Usually at the top of the barn walls.

He is out. A set of gauntlets and picked him up and released him outside. Flew off with just a dirty face.

We had a tit appear in ours. About 2 months ago. Gave me quite a surprise.
Someone told me that birds dive for cover down a flue to avoid buzzards and the like flying overhead.
Many years ago, a friend over a pint would regularly tell the table about the latest antics of the families new kitten. At about 6 months old, it was clambering over the roof and discovered that chimneys existed, so being a very curious kitten it investigated, apparently slipping and sliding down the chimney. Fortunately it was in he summer so the fire wasn’t lit. Not so fortunate that the kitten ran around the house shedding soot before it was caught and washed. My friend installed chimney cowls very shortly afterwards.
