RIP. She was only three months older than me, It is chilling when someone younger or around the same age passes.

Oh my. That’s very sad.

She had PUNK written through her heart and soul like a candy seafront stick. Bless.

Very sad. I have no albums of her but still remember his big success song. Reminds me my teenage years.
Still more sad as 56 is young.

What an artist and what a troubled soul. RIP

Sad news. A troubled soul, but a talented singer who had some principled views.

An odd kettle of fish but her heart was in the right place, a tragic loss.

So sad. RIP Sinead and condolences to her family especially to her three children.

She was never scared of speaking her mind and refused to just be a pop star. We need more like her, sadly missed. RIP Sinead.

Admired her. Despite her complex adverse childhood experiences, she rose above them all and used them in her music to great effect like the true genius she was. One of my favourite Sinead tracks is ‘Scorn not his simplicity’. A beautiful ballad. I loved her rebellious nature, not at all frightened to challenge previously revered institutions that have subsequently been shown to be corrupting and corrupted.

Kind of agree with Morrissey on this. All very sad.

A fragile soul, who always remained true to herself.

A very sad loss indeed.

Rest in Peace, Sinéad.

Extraordinarily sad on so many levels.

According to BBC mini-obituary, she was placed in one of the infamous ‘Magdalene laundries’ as a teenager. Enough to give anyone mental health issues.

I also hadn’t realised her son died last year at the age of 17. Puts many of our problems into sharp perspective.
