I have also been very pleased with Roon service and indeed sound quality, but the latter does depend on the Core and other solutions you use to implement it.
Roonâs SQ on a cheap HW platform (NAS, older MMs) would not be impacted if you do not use DSP I would have thought. I run Roon Core lossless into a DAC on a QNAP with 4 GB RAM, and it runs effortless.
I initially had my core on a QNAP with SSD card (especially for Roon) and double the RAM and it performed effortlessly. Reducing the number of process/apps running did, however, improve sound quality, which was nevertheless still better on the NucleusâŚ
