Not strictly Naim related, but for the last several months Roon has been bombing out and seemingly provoking a Nucleus reboot. This seems to be happening when I start a search. It eventually restarts from the point where it bombed out, usually after 3 to 5 minutes.
If I then leave it running without searching, it seems to keep going OK, although it may bomb out after an hour or two.
I have tried everything I can think of with no success so far.
Any Roon/Nucleus users who can shed light?
Does the nucleus auto update to the latest release? Should be 2.0 1462.
You should probably raise a ticket on roon community support forum, and send logs. “How to” here https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/logs
My guess is that it may be something to do with your Nucleus, I run the Roon Sever on Linux/Windows/MacOs, and Roon has been running fine, search by Roon is OK, albeit extremely slow at times.
Make sure your remote and Nucleus are both up to date.
If they are and still a problem then restart your Nucleus via its web portal.
No problems here; I use a Nucleus.
Thanks to all for the replies. I have generally had nearly four fuss free years with the Nucleus, so the present problem is completely out of character. I checked the software version and it is updated automatically and at the latest version.
I did a restart from the the webpage and for a few minutes I thought it might have solved the problem, but no.
When I get a chance I will raise a ticket as suggested and report back.
Nucleus is a cheap machine in a nice case. It’s mostly a convenience item as it’s nothing you can’t do on your own hardware and download of the Roon Server Software.
Thanks Robert. Is sending the log file sufficient to open a ticket, or do I need to go through some other process first?
Have you tried one in your system?
I used to own one, Nucleus Rev B 5 or 6 years ago for some time (being a software engineer and had some fund to spare, I bought it just out of curiosity really). I think it is just a waste of money.
This is the one I sold, it found the next victim in no time:
Fair enough. For me it has been great value for money. You pays your money and you takes your choice……
Yes, that’s right, and music is the passion & hobby, you can spend your money on whatever you like.
