I would imagine most on the forum are of an age to have fond memories.
Clearly has lived a life with many issues over the years but I remember his performances on Whose Line…etc. showed him in a good light.

He was excellent on WLIIA. Rather supports the view that the best comedians are ‘troubled souls’
Indeed. He was our Rector here for 3 years, having taken over from Stephen Fry. During his time with us he was opening up about his mental health, but his heart got him in the end.
‘What’s for you, won’t go past you’ my mother used to say.

Very sad news to hear of Tony’s passing. As mentioned above, WLLIA was a real highpoint and a real shame that his demons took his talents away from us for so long after leaving the show.
