Well i called Wembley audio on a possible repair to bass unit ,very helpful chap .Asked me to ceck ohms on it ,coming in at 7.6 so seems ok ,it would be really high if knackered apparently
So abit of a mystery lol
This thread is a mystery what’s the issue would be a start
Lack of bass and distortion mate
Has this problem just started to happen,?
Have you moved them?
Have you got good seals?
Will a bad seal cause distortion
Yes and lack of bass,
spread you hand
gently push in the driver as evenly as possible
Remove hand,
Driver should come out slowly,
Check both to compare
It comes out gently but I wouldn’t say slow
Gently sounds good,
Are both the same?
Yes
So not the seals,
Have you tried swapping over the xovers
Check the connections to the crossover if you use naca5 it can loosen the solder over time. Simply reflow the solder if it’s loose.
Might reseal anyway, been moved alot since doing them . I didn’t realise it could cause distortion
Let’s try eliminating other problems that might be aswell,
As @garyi says,
check speaker terminals,
Also I had to resolder speaker socket in one of my xovers,
Many reasons for distortion,
Just need to go through a few things,
And find the issue
Ive swapped crossover and speaker cables
and…
Still same problem
Well that’s all the checks done,
How did you measure the ohms?
Multi meter mate ,im no expert on these matters just to clarify lol
Neither am I,
I’ve had SBLs for a couple years now,
And just resealed some MK1’s,
Did you take the driver out to check?
As in when you swapped the speaker connections from the amp the problem stayed in the same speaker?
