Selective Qobuz Tracks stop playing

I am experiencing from time to time a track that starts playing then stops. This happens unexpectedly particularly as I would have been playing this track before. Interestingly other tracks in the album all complete. I have had this happen before . I have tried deleting and reloading as a favourite which may or not work to find later down the line it plays . I do not have log in issues or issues with tracks and albums I’ve had on favourites for a few years. Can someone explain why this happens, is this a Qobuz issue. My streamer is an NDX2

This is a long standing Qobuz issue. It’s somewhat improved but problems remain. Loads about this on the ‘net as a quick Google will reveal.

Same problem here. I have complained and Qobuz CS is completely clueless about it. They want me to send them pictures of the problem.

I’ve experienced this from time to time as well. Most recently with 2 tracks on the new Paul McCartney album. They’d start fine then stop and it’d skip on to the next track. I think, the last time I played it the issue had disappeared.

i had this yesterday - initially track played c half-way thru but after that refused to play got error msg on 222 screen rather than on app - was wondering if it was beta firmware i had just downloaded

Thank you everyone for your responses. It clarifies a wider problem not specific to any individuals system. It’s not life threatening as they say but irritating and erratic. I will contact Qobuz as well at least to try and get to examine in more depth. As Simon suggests a Google search will be interesting. Thank you.

Good luck with that. Their CS sucks, IMO, and many others have complained of that as well.

At this point Qobuz isn’t really reacting anymore to questions regarding the issue. Not even in their own community (Qobuz Club) except for just adding a new date to one of the earlier updates. Quite embarrassing and even worrying. It looks like they haven’t got a clue how to solve the issue, as this has been dragging on for nearly four months now…

I had this issue over the last few days. Has not happened in a long time for me.

I believe the servers are hosted by AWS so maybe not a Qobuz issue. It all gets very complicated.

Anyway Qobuz sounds better than Tidal!

AWS is actually pretty reliable and robust (they have to be for the business they do). I’m willing to bet with greater confidence the blame goes on Qobuz.

Before I retired I worked on an OSS framework for web and cloud services. AWS was one of the services we built modules for. I’m not a cloud expert like some of my teammates from that time, but I worked on it enough and ran tests against AWS from Docker containers often enough. Broken tests were pretty much software bugs in the framework I was working on or Docker container issues with my test environment, but mostly not AWS.

AWS can have outages here and there, but the ongoing issues with Qobuz are not representative of that kind of problem. I’ll bet it’s lingering issues with the big Qobuz caching fail we all suffered through a few months ago.

That’s what I read in the information from the side of Qobuz as well. But there’s almost a kind of radio silence since a month or so. No reactions to remarks or questions in the Club, just adding a date to a earlier general update to make clear that they are still working on it. It doesn’t boost my confidence in the capability at Qobuz to handle these kind of issues well.

I think sound quality is indeed at the highest level compared to other streaming services, especially with Audirvāna, but the issue hurts the experience.

I’m thinking leaving Tidal (Américain) for QOBUZ bases on the relations with our White House friendship, but, Tidal is rock solid and I am very happy with it, QOBUZ seems to have a lot of issues, how you, users are satisfied?

The royalities to the artists is also very important to me.

What do you thinks?

I wouldn’t hesitate to switch to Qobuz if you feel so inclined. It has had some glicthes here and there (and bad one earlier this year that is resolved). I have had both services in the past, and feel there is nothing compelling about TIDAL that would make me leave Qobuz.

I really like Qobuz, and it’s all I use for streaming.

Thanks for your feedback JDP, as the classical catalog seems strong also, I go for it.
