Settings in the new Focal & Naim app

Hello everyone.

It’s been some time since the Naim app on my android phone auto-updated to the Focal & Naim app, for which I didn’t care because I’m using the Roon app to control my Uniti Atom.

Until yesterday, that is, when I wanted to configure the settings of the Atom that aren’t accessible through the unit’s screen (balance).

While the Atom is shown in the Focal & Naim app with the ability to change input source and volume, there is no “gear” icon anymore to tap on and access all the Atom’s settings.

Is it hidden somewhere there? Does anybody knows what’s going on?

Thank you.

Should be 3 dots top right, tap that and then select settings.

On the app ‘home’ page you should still see a gear wheel button for the settings menu. Tap that and select System Settings to access the balance control. At least you do on the iOS app. Perhaps for some strange reason it’s different on Android?

Nope. Here’s what I get when I open the app and then when I tap on the Atom icon. No gear icon or three dots to be seen. Weird.

The second screenshot is where the 3 dots should be. Which app version are you on? BTW Your presets need updating!

Presumably you’ve tried force quitting the App…? (Also presuming you are on the latest App version?)

If after that, and perhaps a router restart, I’d be tempted to remove the App from your device and re-install….

@kokixx can you tell us what device you’re using. If it’s an older Samsung try holding the Recent Apps button (How to access the hardware menu button on Samsung Galaxy S5? - Samsung Galaxy S5 Guide)

It’s version 7.2. I will update my presets eventually, I just don’t care much because I use the Roon app.

Router restart doesn’t do anything. Removed and reinstalled the app, cleaned storage and cache, still the same.

It’s a Kyocera Duraforce Ultra 5G. The previous Naim app worked just fine.

I just installed a firmware update on the Atom. Still the Focal & Naim app doesn’t show the settings icon. I guess I’ll have to find and install the older Naim.apk app.

Aaaaand, I just found the settings dots. I just tapped to the EMPTY space to the right of the magnifying glass and the settings window opened. This then got me thinking. I changed the appearance of the app from light to dark and presto: the three dots revealed them selves.
Just see the screenshots below.
What the actually f***?

It looks like it’s a bug. This is the problem with Android. The app developer has no idea what anny particular Android manufacturer is actually going to build.

Silly things like this can drive someone mad.

Glad you’re sorted - that’s an obscure phone!
