The big advantage of having a Uniti Star is having smaller furniture

Bedroom system, built the unit myself that’s on top of the Ikea drawers.

A&R A60 Amplifier, Denon DRM500 casette deck, Leak Sterofetic Tuner, Marantz CDR recorder, plus a Google audio chromecast fed into a Topping E30 Dac. The Sonos playbar was replaced in my main room with a Sonos Arc so I have moved it to the bedroom for streaming purposes as well as it can stream most services. Speakers are Dali Speckor 1’s which are rather good for the money. Overall a nice little system, the A60 Amp is just so good, had one many years ago and had to get another for this room.

Aaah, the A60 amp. That takes me back! When I was at college (a lifetime ago), I scrimped and saved every penny to buy one. I loved it, and I’m delighted that you’re still enjoying yours. :+1:

Great, I looked at Kave Home furniture last weekend, but I wasn’t convinced—also because there don’t seem to be any cable holes. I’m considering both UNNU and CLIC (which appear to be the same products but of different quality), but I’ll look into your suggestion as well.

Which model is this from IKEA?

That is very nice @ratrat and aspirational compared to our decades old Corras and Expedit!

Hey @daddycool
Apart from the Corras and Expedit ( now Kallax ) what a treat to see your latest system set-up. Always admired your own living room. Thanks for sharing a current “up-to-date” picture.

We’re rather partial to a bit of Kallax too. That’s me and my best mate, ( my wife). It’s such a versatile storage solution and works well for vinyl records, magazines, other media, and shoe box size audio pieces, like this…

These Kallax units were “ glued and screwed”, plus braced too, to ensure they are as rigid as possible. To be fair, the nature of this low mass furniture lends itself to “low resonance”, etc.

Here, the shoe box audio pieces are finished with custom cut glass shelves and Naim Fraim isolation. The Kallax - itself - is sited on to IsoAcoustic carpet feet, which - by coincidence - fit the IKEA Kallax feet.

A strip was also installed - across the back - into the rear of the cube spaces, so all the vinyl albums could “line up” straight on the front.

Hope this inexpensive IKEA approach is also interesting to others .

Yes did the same here, and also spiked the Corras with the spikes in Linn Skeets, works a treat!

The cabinet is from a French furniture maker, name escapes me just now but we have two matching units. The Atom HE is in there along with the Arcam AVR850, the NAP100 and the NAS (and a small selection of beverages).
