Show us your Japanese vinyl pressings

Many forum members will remember the Human League’s Holiday 80 initially came out in the UK as a dpuble 7" single in a gatefold sleeve. but in Japan it was released as this fabulous 12’ single with an extra track, a die-cut sleeve, obi, insert and this hugely oversized label. Lovely stuff.

Excellent.
I never thought I’d be playing “Japanese vinyl snap”!
How about this one?

Not got that on vinyl either – but I do have a Japanese cassette of it somewhere. I’ll have to dig it out.

Noob question as i dont know much about vinyl.
Are Japanese pressings considered better quality?

This guy is right, used LPs from Japan have always been perfect. These guys treat their records like a baby.

They are very very good pressings. You get lots of extra bits with them and the attention to detail is often exquisite. Whether or not you prefer the sound/mastering many Japanese pressings have is of course a matter of taste.

Never seen a Ladyland cut-out before, Kev. Thought that was only an American thing, and only for albums that didn’t sell well.

Wow. I’m envious!

Now that Japanese release I will keep an eye out for. I’ll ask my usual source of Japanese pressings to keep an eye out too.

Thanks @londonstripe !

Japanese Japan – here’s the Exorcising Ghosts 2-LP compilation. No obi, but the insert’s still present and correct:

Love that compilation.
Here’s some older Japanese Japan with a double-width OBI.
