Show us your Naim loudspeakers

Remember you mentioned the stereo axess setup here.
I had the chance once to get an axent - but sadly did not jump in. It is a real large center. (But could worked under my tv :face_with_raised_eyebrow:). I refused to buy it because of its used price (3k). But now - knowing how excellent the little brother is performing, I regret not going for axent.
I think the axent could be one of the most rare naim speakers - followed by sl2 (and axess)

Naim made a few special AV Fraims that were used in the factory and at shows and were designed to accommodate an Axent as well.

Wow - these will be even more rare
Just looked up. Axent is „only“ much wider with 94cm than axxess. But it’s also rare to find pictures in the net.
But … axess is so good - my jaw dropped in a sec. So natural - and my former center is a 2,5k Audio physics.

I believe these LS are very much underrated!

The guy I bought my SL2s from was a sound engineer. He had an Axent. Said it was the best speaker he had ever heard. I regret not buying it from him.

I really believe it!
As mentioned - even axess brings voices to another level! And I got it for a steal as it was so hard to sell (so strange…). If axess/axent ever comes up - buy him!

Think there is a colleague here from Germany with a stunning Homecinema system with axent.
Maybe we will get some pics

Hope this is fine

And this system should be a walk away for me
@NNNM you are welcome to invite me to your place.

With plasterboard walls that’s where they work. Even the large table and telly doesn’t upset things too much.

Current Allaes. Patiently waiting for a gently used pair of SL2s (black, naturally) to become available.

Not shown: pairs of Credo and nSat.

I’ve had Monitor Audios and B&W, but once I arrived at a full Naim system, I’ve never looked back. For me, the speakers have worked tremendously well in most environments (very adaptable with some setup patience) and the boundary design is valuable to me.

Yes, I’m in the same camp as everyone else who wishes Naim could have continued their speaker design and manufacturing, but that is arguably never coming back in the way it was. I also find it difficult to see how anything like that could land in the Focal world, unfortunately. (Focal powered-by-Naim is a thing perhaps, but Focal designed-by-Naim? Unlikely :man_shrugging:?) Never say never, though.

Can I ask, are they original grilles?

Thanks

Yes they are original

You don’t often see black Allaes, they look fantastic :+1: thanks for posting.

NBLs / DBLs are the only Naim speakers I haven’t heard, I’m probably missing out :slightly_smiling_face:

Indeed! I can’t see another one thicking all the boxes, sound, sealed box with ingeneous damping solutions, aestethics and price.

Its a long shot but I need to start hunting down some DBLs, how big is your room?

There were a pair of DBLs near Pau a while ago and not too dear, I was sorely tempted.

That’s the great thing about DBL’s, you don’t need a big room. For the ‘live like’ listening experience they are pretty much unrivalled. A mate has S800’s and while they give you a similar scale I don’t think they are quite as musical as DBL’s. The only downside with DBL’s is that they need to be fed good kit otherwise they can sound like a giant PA speaker. The upside is that there are ways round obtaining suitable mid-range drive units if you find a pair that need work.

around 18-20 sqm, but not a simple rectangular room

Interesting, thanks for the detailed diagram.

Funny, I have black SL2s and wish I could find a air of black Allaes
