Sorry for your loss, take care.
So sad, but I admire the way you have expressed your life with Fergus.
Thanks one and all, slowly getting used to a very different routine, or lack of routine. There will be another dog, we miss the walks and meeting people, it’s not quite the same walking without a dog, and I’ve started to covet other peoples!
Thank you. He was a “Glen Of Imaal Terrier” originating from County Wicklow in Ireland, currently an endangered breed, I think there were only 30 puppies last year. Very strong and muscular dogs, Fergus peaked at 22Kg when he was in his prime, they were bred to hunt Badgers so had to be pretty tough. Badger hunting with dogs was, quite rightly, banned in the 1960’s in Ireland and the breed diminished.
So Sorry to hear this and for your loss
Kindest thoughts to you
Well, I have to admit, I’m not familiar with that dog breed at all. My parents had a Schnauzer a long time ago, Flocke, and when I compare the pictures, there is quite a big difference.
Another lovely boy/bitch!
Yes quite a difference, side by side you would never confuse them. Glens are low to the ground but very muscular with a large head and a very big jaw.. Fergus once swallowed a ball about half the diameter of a tennis ball, it was in his stomach for 6 days. Naturally once diagnosed it needed an operation to remove it!
Obvously an undercover job.
My Disa has a great big cat basket just like that,
and at nights she allows me to sleep in it too ![]()
Jerry is enjoying my son being away at university…
Funny. When I saw the pic it immediately reminded me of ‘Tom & Jerry’ where Jerry runs under the carpet…
G
She’s lovely
