This also happened to Bollino n a few occasions. At the beginning can be invisible, then an abscess may occur later which requires antibiothics therapy. Has Mr. Tux been treated now?

All i know is whatever happened was a couple of weeks ago, and he has been quite sore with it the first week but seems okay now. The site of both injuries show a bald patch which indicates the probability of vet treatment. The injuries do look to be healing.

I haven’t seen his folks for a while, but they are very caring and do look after him.

I strongly suspect his sparring partner is Magnus (the merciless) a feral tom that marauds around the village doing tomcat things.

Magnus is very elusive…
seems to know i’m out to catch him for that drive to the vet clinic :scissors:

The photo above is about as close as i can get to him, Magnus is spellbound by Disa who is keeping out of his view, she doesn’t want his affections.

Magnus looks like a real villian indeed

What a very good idea, having lost our dog at Christmas we’re getting very broody waiting for a puppy, will look into that. It would only be for a few months, perhaps they look for longer commitment than that?

No there isn’t any particular commitment. The scheme provides a way to meet people who want their dog walked or whatever it is and there is a very small monthly or annual payment which pays for the insurance while you are in charge. Then it’s just down to you and owners you message with to agree whatever you agree.

With us we started with a day a week and it turned into 2 hours walk every weekday, unless either we or the dog have other things to do. You can stop and start as you like.

Simba, the neighbourhood terror, came in for a rest while out marauding today.

Thanks David I’ll look into that!

Debs, I assume you’ve seen the documentary ‘The Secret Life of Cats‘ many years ago?

There’s no secrets about the life of Magnus…
just the usual tomcat debauchory, punch-ups, pillaging, and peeing on doorsteps :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

He looks well fed and plump for a feral, probably living well on a local farm.
But with that black goaty beard, and those watchful eyes set too close together he can’t be trusted.

Tom is not impressed with dust on the UQ stack … but he is keen on a walk thru’ the fields, despite getting his tackle tangled.

He’s lovely, glad he is doing well.

The top photo, you can just imagine him thinking. Come on dad, it’s time to go.

Glad he’s doing ok :+1:

Twig on our morning walk through the fields here. The years are catching with him fast and he’s getting very thin despite still having a good appetite. He now spends all his time at the farm in the countryside, and he likes his bed beside the aga in the kitchen. He deserves it.

My daughter has a habit of buying hamsters that other people have returned to the pet shop…….they have their best life. It also makes great cat tv…….hamster could not care less and seems to wind them up on purpose:joy:

Truce. After several hours of mayhem (Casper the two year old playing tag with Dude the 10 year old) with Dude taking a swipe at Casper, we now have a truce

Isn’t it quite stressful for the hamsters when cats are on the other side of the cage?
