Been a bit slow as with a few deaths in the family we didn’t open for almost 2 months. Got a NADOC show on till next weekend then I’ve got a local artist restropective coming after.
I’ve sold a few of mine and I’m planning a show in spring. It was never meant to be a money making project.

Sorry to hear this, it’s horrible when it happens. This has happened to me on more than one occasion. IME it had depended on which vet I got and the type of vets they were (private or chain-owned). Chain-owned can be slower and have less immediate access to all drugs/treatments.
I understand they have to follow a RCVS code and must prove medical need before treatment, but I do think that ‘covering themselves’ before rational common sense happens.
It’s a very touchy subject, so I won’t go into it or knock vets…too much. The way I have learnt to deal with vets is being a polite, friendly PIA. Pushing to do tests at all costs, to do other tests at the same time instead of waiting, asking the consequences of results and what will you treat my cat with and do you have it, how long. I also think a lot of vets don’t discus or offer treatment early on because they don’t want the customer feeling they’re being easily led or ripped off. Several occasions I’ve taken my cat in to the same vet days or a week later for an update/check, it will be a different person and they’ve said ‘we’ll give him some of this…’ and in my mind I’m thinking why didn’t they give him this last time? I’ll ask why without them knowing why I’m asking and the response confims he should have had it last week.

Here in Dublin as well as your local vet you have the option of bringing your pet to UCD (University College Dublin). Their Veterinary College is open to the public and their care and expertise is first class, they’re also open 24/7 for after hours emergencies which I’ve had cause to use on occasion

Bubble is very tired. No idea why, she’s been asleep all day. She’s also filthy, and snoring like a chainsaw. Actually, that’s not a bad description of me in my teenage years, come to think of it.

So very sorry to learn of your loss Gazza, it makes it harder when slow reactions by the vets are involved, we had that horror with our Cockapoo Alfie who had only just turned five years old. Take care.

Yesterday my second neighbour messaged me telling that Bollino and Mr. Pritt were relaxing by the pool, the scene was so funny She said. Unfortunately She did not manage to photograph them.to It seems that Pritt is much more friendly and hospitable than Bollino, since when Mr Pritt passed here, he rushed to him returning with a swollen tail.

Here where I live in Guildford, the residents association has a hedgehog highway project and is promoting the idea of the right size holes in fences to everyone. This is theoretically all over an area of three or four square miles, although I think there is still lots to do yet.
