That sounds very positive. Is there much difference in the bass?
If anything it is slightly more controlled
Hey there,
We both have lp12s, pretty much the same cart, but you have my next upgrade already in place. The naim aro tonearm…
My current arm is a linn ittok lv2, which sounds great, but I hear things about the aro (the word “legendary” comes to mind).
What are your thoughts? Anything I should know before I take the plunge?
I went from the Linn Ittok to the Aro 20 years ago it’s like night and day would never revert back. I always thought it was a perfect match with the LP12 as the 3 springs are perfectly balanced.
Whereas using the Ittok / Ekos the back spring is really wound up compared to the other 2.
Just my opinion.

Martin
I now have 100+ hours on the Audio Technica VMN60SLC with ‘T’ Rigid Body modification. It utilises the excellent MM phono stage in the Nait50.
Nait50 with LP12 - there is a lot to be said for synergy and keeping things simple - it all sounds sublime powered by the KRadikal 2.
Only about 1350 ever made, so not easy to find.
Off topic a little here but where does someone manage to buy cartridge wires ? I live in the snowy Canadian shield and all i can look on is Amazon .
I went from Ittok to Aro. I had a demo of Ittok v Aro v Ekos and the Aro was the winner for me. I guess the challenge for you will be finding one as it’s no longer being made, unless of course you’ve already found one ![]()
Thanks for the responses. There’s one on audiogon right now for two grand shipped from Australia. I’m not sure what they go for.
Hi @Skeptikal
When I had the older Audio Technica VM760SLC cart I kept the stylus guard in place until someone on here suggested I would get better (sound quality) results if I removed it - and they were right!
The guard generates unwanted vibrations, so with the recent update (adding the Trig B mod) I removed the guard immediately. Why don’t you give it a try and see what you think?
Your own experiences and system influenced me to consider the Trig B mod (and KRad2) so thanks for that!!
@1GiantLeap
Hi and thank you.
I’ve now got the new upgrade boron cantilever stylus on mine now. ![]()
I’ll give it a try sometime soon.

Not sure, @Kazman1960 , but I can ask my audio dealer. What do you need to connect?
How many hours?
I would say a conservative 16hrs
16 hrs in a month - looks like you need a day off from work to seriously spin some vinyl!
I know unfortunately after I fitted the Nd9 I had an operation followed by a week on crutches that stopped me going anywhere near my turntable. I’m know back at work with my thumb stick and being very careful changing records mainly on the weekends.
Suddenly feeling so much love right now, at least until it wears out! ![]()
Enjoy!
Best regards, BF
