Sorry about the dust!
Richard, I have removed said post/request. My apologies.
When we moved into this house nearly 40 years ago, the downstairs loo had woodchip paper with white gloss paint. Took me hours to get it off using a steamer, scoring it etc. Managed to do with only minimal amount of filler required afterwards, then painted thevwalls with oil-based white satin finish. Still looks pristine and easily washable. Only problem is that the original ceramic cistern developed a crack soon after the lockdown started, so until it all settles down we have to go upstairs for …
Must go and take a picture of my LP12 …
Someone’s been polishing their outer platter!
You are fortunate. I moved in at a similar time to you and I had the same wallpaper on the living room, when I eventually removed (by the same method as you), discovered that the previous decorator had attacked the bubbles with a Stanley knife. The result was “death by a thousand cuts”. Re-plastering was the result. Most go and photo my 1980 LP12…
My Majik LP12 really love this deck always wanted one but could never afford it. Must give it a dust.
Top advice: Put the stylus guard on first!
Mine bought new in 1990, Afromosia, Aro, Armageddon, Trampolin 2
Finally purchased my first LP12 just after Christmas. Had a demo 30 odd years ago and was blown away but only had enough for the Axis at that time which was very good deck. Traded that in for a Rega P9/Apheta/IOS about 13 years ago which was great with the 252/300 but didn’t hook up as well when 552/500 replaced it.
The LP12 seems up to the job though and sounds decent.
Cheers, Rack.
My, they are very nice photos. And the deck isn’t too shabby either.,
Nice black LP12
Nice entry level LP12 there
Quick update on Aro servicing.
We can re-do the earthing & we may have cartridge tags, but a full rewire is a no-no.
We may have some anti-skate weights around.
Clive says that he’d be reluctant to offer a bearing re-lube, as sometimes they can jam solid when you try to undo them.
Regards
Neil.
Does he fancy knocking up another batch of, say, 50? I am sure they will sell…
Is that walnut?
Would love a full rewire with the opportunity to choose wire options and level of cost vs performance. The process is still to go through a dealer correct?
