Thought I’d join in. Recent upgrades have brought amazing results. This is my new (old) Kuzma stabi s with stabi s tonearm. It’s got a ortofon quintet black and playing into an Tom Evans microgroove + phono stage. All into a new (old) Nac82 new (old) Nap250 and Neat Motive se2s. Sounds great.

I have too many, I just kept buying but enjoy them all. Does it show that I like records and turntables? Sold my Linn Ikemi, Karik/Numerik and YBA CD1A, to make room for the turntables. Not shown a soon to be built LP12 with SME M2-9R with Geddon PS for mono use only. Also have a 1200 MK5 waiting to have an SME M2-9 installed, although still not yet convinced it is worth it. Wish I had room for a 1200G as I think it’s a fantastic table but my wife would kill me.

Forgive the wires, all the tables are on a built-in so had to drill holes.

what mat do you use on the sondek?

That’s three LP12’s then. Variety is the spice of life, get rid of one for the 1200G I’d say…

The mat comes from Sweden. Linnarts used to sell them but sadly no more. I do not know what they are made from but they brighten the sound of the LP12.

Tough to do, one has the Ittok LVIII MK2, the other with the SME IV is one I built from scratch and I am partial to both. I guess I am stuck with what I’ve got.

There’s a “soon to be built” one as well, and another table with an SME IV. But I understand things can be tough. I have two and have been told I need to get rid of one, but am procrastinating

Since one has sentimental value, perhaps see if you can put either the Ittok or the SME M2-9R on the 1200G

I drop subtle hints when she’s in a good mood. BTW, honey I am building another turntable this one will be strictly for mono recordings. She just nods and doesn’t say a word. I am lucky but I am convinced if I come in with a Technics 1200G box and then there are six tables in total, I might be done for. Six is my max as the Cyrus has 4 phono inputs and the Karin has two, one for MM and the other for MC. Sonically the differences between them are slight except for the SME 10 it has a far more clinical/sterile sound that can sound dead on some recordings and spectacular on others. I thought of selling that one but it is built to such a high standard I just can’t. Did I mention I like turntables.

Yeah, swapping the tonearm on the 1200G is pretty easy but I do like the classic looks of the s shaped arm on the 1200G and it is beautiful to look at. No, I think if I take the plunge I keep everything. You know you’ve gone overboard when a seven year old tells you “Dad, no more turntables”.

It is beautiful indeed, one of mine is 1210GAE. I have no plans to change anything on it except the cart at some point.

Do you have Trampolin baseboards on any of the LP12’s? Sat on those built-in shelves could be a perfect instance where the extra isolation offered by the Trampolin might be of benefit?

I was invited to hear it several years ago a few months before they launched it and I was smitten, still am. I have an Oyaide MJ-12 waiting for it.

Both of them have Trampolines and the soon to be built one will as well.

If I I was going to sell one it might be the Xerxes 20+, it was problematic at first the bearing screws were loose had to sort that out on my own and the PS which was supposed to be new wasn’t working properly. Finally the dealer swapped a Vertere PS for it. I am happy with it and the sound is very compelling, but here in the US the dealer network for Roksan is non-existent. I get better service contacting an online dealer in the UK to order parts than I do from North America. That would be the only reason to sell it. I find the Monitor Audio Group or whoever own Roksan now to be nonexistent and pretty woeful in their ability to spread the word on what a good table it is.

OK FFS the buzz is back. Again, I didn’t touch anything.

So what I get is a hiss from the speakers that goes away if I earth in an RCA negative. I have disconnected the TT from the phono stage to make sure the PS was generating the hum. I have checked all the connections and they look good.

Not sure what else to do. I have tried running a separate earth and have touch-tested various bits of the system with bare wire to earth to see if I can create a better path but nothing makes any difference.

ARRggggHHHHH (screams eternally)

Nothing fancy here but an interesting journey. The last two tables prior to this VPI was Rega P8 which never connected to me due to the foam approach and tiny size. Felt toy-ish to me and I wanted…more? Sold it and got Vertere DG-1 but always got the feeling it was not quite done. The arm was cool but nylon threads and PCB arm just felt bit risky in terms of tolerances and precision and I was at a stage with vinyl where I wanted to cut down a bit. So out it went and in went the VPI Scout with HRX feets at a fraction of the cost of both Rega and Vertere. And to my suprise it has ticked all the boxes I was looking for at a far lower price. With that said, you don’t always have to pay more to get more. And oh, I got VTA and azimuth adjustment and plint levelling options now and the motor is more silent than both Rega and Vertere! Hurray :sunglasses:

I absolutely love it. There is one for sale for £1k at the mo and I’m tempted just so I can try the unipivot arm.

And does this count?

I love the unipivot arm. Very different from Rega of course but I like the nimble feel to it. Feels more like a delicate instrument :sunglasses:
