I’m considering upgrading my interconnect Super Lumina to Chord Music (as you probably know it`s very expensive cable) between my ND555 to 552. Has anyone done this before and would like to tell me what conclusions he reached
Please Gentleman’s, no one has upgraded and cannot give me an answer
I compared both of these to my Hiline and preferred the latter. They were both a little smoother than the Hiline but lost a vital (to me) instrumental texture on classical and jazz. I also found the Hiline boogied a bit more.
Hallo,
I compared the interconnect DIN-DIN Chord Sarum T, Chord Music and Naim Super Lumina.
You can find it here:
This is how the cables sounded in my system.
Can you become a Chord Music democable with your dealer to compare?
Regards,
Bart
Well you know what I think Meni. The same as Bart and a couple of your fellow countrymen friends of mine. Chord Music IC’s are our favourites. You won’t find a consensus here though. But you know that right?
I have only compared SL to lavender and Morgana.
Here the SL was better without a doubt.
Lavender stressed in comparison
Morgana too dark
Love to try a music some day
Tried Chord Sarum and Signature vs SL, and SL anyday more organic by far.
I can not explain what the Chord Music cable between ND555 und NAC552 adds to the SQ compared to the SL cable, because I did a full Chord Cable swap between ND555, NAPS 555 and NAC552 in one step. This update brought a more detailed SQ in many aspects. More analog sound, more details in sound stage, transparency of details in all frequencies.
I recommend to get a dealer demo to justify what a swap from SL to Chord could bring to your system.
No, I can’t borrow Chord Music because the dealer don’t have this cable
Right
If it makes your decision easier there is a DIN-DIN Chord Music available on eBay at the moment. It is still expensive, but a LOT more reasonable than RRP. I saw it this morning with envy
Tempting
Life would be better with UK being part of EU
That’s what I thought several times
Hi Meni,
I haven’t directly compared an SL i/c with Music on a 552DR/500DR-based system but I did compare SL with Sarum T and subsequently, Sarum T with Music. The Sarum T was better than SL on all tracks, particularly with voice, piano, brass instruments and percussion. In isolation SL was “good” but once compared, it wasn’t really quite up to it. If you didn’t do the comparison though, you’d be perfectly happy with the SL.
Music is simply way better than Sarum T. All the usual parameters of comparison are pretty pointless, it’s just vastly more communicative and, dare I say it, musical as its name suggests. Personally, I wouldn’t hesitate in getting one (of course I did just that ).
That’s what everyone say about Music. Will need to lay my hands on Music one day.
I found Sarum T technically better than SL but not musically so I chose SL. I believe Music is awesome based on what I’ve heard from like everyone. It’s special.
If someone can lend me £2000 I will buy the one on ebay and let you know how it sounds
