Hi all, with all the talk about cd transports, i was wondering if anyone has tried one of these? Nice top loader that seems to be well liked by the few who have wrote about it. I have moved to streaming and sadly sold off my cds3 but would like to spin the occasional disc since I have a wall of them. People say the dac is the main thing WRT sound quality, I’ve moved to a nss333 npx300 and dont regret it but still would like to spin discs occasionally.
@Mario I replaced my CD5si with a Luxman and really love it. It is a one box CDP rather than a transport, but there is something to be said for that approach. It may be too costly for your occasional CD play. Best of luck with whatever you choose.

Not direct experience of this product but very positive experience of their Dacs, have three of them and very well made and excellent sound quality for what they cost.
Thank you, I’m sure the luxman is just outstanding, It would be pricey. The SMSL looks well engineered and a top loader with a puck so at least reminiscent of my cds3. Chinese, but I shouldn’t write it off because of that. Not too expensive if it really does perform.
