SN2 speaker choice - Kudos X3 vs MA 300 Silver 7G

My son has acquired an SN2 (I’ve an SN3, which he’s heard a lot and liked, hence his purchase) but he’s keen to upgrade his speakers from his KEF Q350 to one of the speakers above: the Kudos or the Monitor Audio 300 Silver 7G.

I didn’t know either speakers at all, and I’ve advised him to go and have a listen or ask if possible for a home demo. I can’t go too, as we’re geographically far apart. I said I’d ask on here for any thoughts or other suggestions for his SN2.

His budget is £1.5K max. So pre-loved/ex-dem is likely his best option.

I don’t think MA have ever been seen as natural partners for Naim whereas Kudos are obviously very highly regarded, and are room friendly, so the X3 seems the less risky option. However speakers are so obviously a personal choice a demo is essential, preferably at home.

I own the MA 200 7G and used to run them off my old Naim XS3. Brilliant combination.
Now run them off my Technics. Lovely speakers, but as suggested, try in your own listening environment first.
