Think you are ultimately correct…HH however, as speakers are there …I see no huge harm….it certainly will not be the ultimate possible but then neither is the source. I think the TP psu is not that bad…given his speakers (R7) he could look at driving this with a 250.2DR as poster originally alluded to leaving room for a pre amp/source upgrade later. Its not ideal - I am a big fan of source first….its tricky….will it be ultimately satisfying probably not, will it ultimately sort things no…….this is journey…..will it be better than the SN2 into R7’s yes….
