Sn3 hcdr as pre amp

Hi, I will have to say adding a 250dr to hcdr/sn3 is far better sonically. I worried about going 250dr first rather than 282 which most members here recommend, but absolutely no regret. There is limitation on describing what adding 250 dr to my system has brought since I am not a fluent English speaker, but I’ll try my best. The most difference that I feel is in bass. Not only it feels like it goes lower than before but it also got more shape to it than before. Highs got more airy and natural feel than before. Pace and rhythm has got much better too. In general, music flows much more comfortably than before. I absolutely recommend you to add 250dr if you can. Regarding speakers, I haven’t had a chance to hear your speakers, but I know they have great reputation, coming from b&w 702 signatures to kanta 3s, I am sure adding a 250dr will have far more impact than going to kanta 2s.

It’s a bit sad the napsc has some case damage but it’s more often than not simply placed at the back of the rack out of sight. So I wouldn’t worry hugely if the 282 itself is mint.

thanks !
if possible I will try to test NAP250DR prior buying but looks like its a very good step exactly as you describe. I went through the forum and most opinions are absolutely positive - the same as yours (although NAC282 seems a little bit more logical in the first step - as pre amp section of SN3 is just less great as power amp section). thanks for sharing !
