Looking at a well used 4 pin snaic, the din pins look quite dull and may have a patina.
Is there a sure fire way to clean or does just inserting do the trick (and crud up the female connection)
If they’re really bad you might want to start off with some isopropyl alcohol on a q tip, but otherwise repeated plugging and unplugging into a suitable socket should improve matters.
