Snaxo 2-4 Identification

I’ve been offered an olive Snaxo 2-4 in good condition, somewhat unfortunately the seller doesn’t know what speaker the unit has been set up for. I’ve contacted Naim with regards to this, but have yet to hear back. I wonder if anyone here can tell just by looking at the Circuit Board? The serial number is apparently 35844, which makes it’s year of manufacture 1987…I thought Snaxo’s first appeared in 1996 or thereabouts? So a few things to clear up! Thanks.

It’s a Naxo 2-4 a Snaxo (SuperNaxo) has the advantage of using a Burndy to a Supercap.

Probably for IBL and SBL.

Might be worth contacting Naim service for this info and also any history. Some may have been modified by Naim after manufacture for different speakers etc, plus they may have the service record. I serviced my SNAXO last year and discovered it was very worthwhile so factor that in your calculation if necessary.

Naim can also check if setup for R/L active split as opposed to the more usual HF/LF split (if that make sense).

See post below from the recent active thread

It’s a bit hard to see but not too sure about the soldering on the DINs so might have been modified - @NeilS may know form looking at the picture

The wiring looks standard, but I can’t see any more than that. Some clear, close up shots of the two component areas would help narrow down the spec.

Thank you! I’ll post some more photos after the weekend. Your advice is appreciated

Hopefully that’s a bit clearer. Thank you for your time :+1:

From what I can make out, it looks like standard IBL/SBL - whether the pots have been tweaked is another matter though!
I can’t see any service history, which ties in with how original it looks.
