SNAXO 2-4 Questions

I recently got a deal on an olive SNAXO 2-4 and wanted to try it out. I got minimal treble output on both speakers equally playing light jazz. Looking for some input.

The original system was CDS2/52/sc/250/SL2s. Wanted to add the SNAXO powered by a hicap, and another 250.

All components are known to be working fine, except for the SNAXO which is the unknown.

  1. Do I need an “active” 4 pin SNAIC, or is a regular 4 pin SNAIC alright since the 250s are regulated amps?

  2. Is this the correct blanking plug?

  1. Is “Channel 1” in the connection guide the left speaker, and “Channel 2” the right speaker?

  2. Separately, the SNAXO came with this Burndy. Is this the correct one? Fwiw, I also bought the CDS2 from the same seller and he included the wrong puck! I have not tried powering the SNAXO with the Supercap yet.

Whatever you do, don’t try using that Burndy cable on your SNAXO - it’s not the right one! It has 13 pins (SNAXO Burndy has 17) so probably a CDPS Burndy.

As for the Link plug - I don’t know. Perhaps @NeilS can advise?

CH1 = Left, CH2 = Right

You can use a SNAIC4 between the PS powering the SNAXO and the PS of the Preamp. It’s only an issue where you are using smaller power amps, in which case the SNAIC4s from the SNAXO to the power amps should be changed to Active leads.

There are little potentiometers inside which allow you to adjust the bass and treble output respectively. I am not surprised at this as sl2s need the treble turning up a lot more than either sbl or ibl.
You may need to reduce the bass output to get the correct balance. Hope this helps.

Thanks Richard. Fortunately the CD Burndy won’t even fit!

What do you think of this positioning?

Good news. I managed to get it going. Sounds pretty awesome.
