Snaxo 242

So I’ve just paid out for a Naim Snaxo 242 Active Crossover for kudos Titan 606. Speakers. Cost £1’400, so I have a 282 & two hi-caps and one 200 power amp at this stage. So I’m thinking that I just need to get myself another 200 power and I’m ready to go right ??
I can’t see a configuration guide for it?? Naim only show the connection of a 242 to the super-cap
My front front end is a
NDX BT

You need a power supply for the SNAXO. You could use one of your HiCaps from the 282, or get another one but a Supercap is much, much better. Then you need a second power amp. Most suggest having both the same, if not use the better of the two on the HF.

Cable to connect the pre and SNAXO power supplies, so-called ‘active cable’. The signal goes Pre>Pre PS>SNAXO PS>SNAXO. If HiCap used on the SNAXO it will have a Snaic to connect to the SNAXO and you need to leave the Burndy plug in the SNAXO socket. Also a cable to connect each power amp from the SNAXO outputs.

Finally you need two extra runs of speaker cable. All 4 the same length.

I am not an expert in active crossovers for non-Naim but I wonder if you need to have the SNAXO setting up by Naim for your Kudos. Not sure from your post if it is already configured.

Thank you very much
The 242 is already set up for Kudos 606 I didn’t realise that I could use a 250 on the HF and the 200 on the LF that gives easer upgrading options :ok_hand:

Did your Naim dealer not explain the options…? :astonished:

Ensure you search the forum about so called ‘active leads’ if you use nap 200’s.

With active 606s, you really want a much better front end than a NDX. An NDS/555 would be a nice match.

I think that pretty much summarises it all!

The better NAP on HF duties has always seemed counterintuitive to me but it’s the advice that’s given time and time again.

When you set it up just be careful when you connect the speaker cables and interconnects for the Snaxo.

Don’t connect the low/mid frequency to your tweeters as it can damage them
