The short answer is, no they don’t.
OTOH it’s a day out…might even be enjoyable….and what else are us OAPs going to do with our lives?

Same here. It’s not great and it’s certainly a trek by public transport but it’s the closest so if there is one to be done it will be that one.
I won’t be going. I do not enjoy shows anymore and it is too far for me for a day out.
It may be better these days but shows do not demonstrate equipment well. Room acoustics are often terrible and too many people for me.
I must admit these days it’s just a nice day with friends. We meet at Paddington at a time in the morning I don’t normally believe exists (apart from going for a pee), chat on the train, wander round the show together and separately, get the train back in the late afternoon, then go for dinner in London. Although we all like good hifi the show is secondary.
Where was he based?
Corsham I think.
Ah……that place ![]()
In that case it is possible that we met………
I won’t share his name here as it’s not mine to share in public, if you’re interested I can ask Richard to swap email addresses, but I understand that after retirement it’s not necessarily interesting.
Best not. There are other implications.
Understood. I also spent years doing work that required clearances. It was amusing me that both of us were by habit using the sort of obfuscation that meant web crawlers wouldn’t pick up anything obvious.
Apologies for the thread diversion, all my fault.
No worries. So will it be pink or red carnations.
And the passphrase “The moon is bright tonight”
Answer “ Yes, but the stars are going out”
Or more along the lines of “Mine’s a pint” ?
I think a red carnation. Passphrase trickier, maybe “Richard has the patience of a saint”, ![]()
Steady on now…….
Or ‘My radio doesn’t work…’
Ouch!
Or….”don’t ask me, I’m just a lowly sparkie. Go ask the gods in the RF group.”
Going on Sunday. It’s a bit far for me these days but we are staying with daughter in the West Country to shorten journey times and the day.
I won’t have a red carnation but I do possess a Naim water bottle (so sad, I know).
Does the naim water bottle get pressed into additional service ever for naim users of a certain age?
Only if they’re at a standstill on the motorway and the service area is twenty miles away……
(Been there…….)
Who’s been talking?
Why do you think I have one?
