Solstice phono stage settings for Lyra cartridge

Hello,

I have installed a Lyra Delos on a Solstice (using the new lighter counterweight) but i’m not sure what settings on the NVC-TT should be used for capacitance and resistance.

Is there anyone who is using a Lyra cartridge that is able to advise?

Many thanks

I don’t know what the NVC-TT provides for resistive values, but I would start in the range of 500Ω and work up or down from there.

It’s not a cut and dry thing to set loading for a LOMC on any particular cartridge. It depends on phono cables, the phono-stage and to an extent personal preference too.

FWIW: I load my Lyra Atlas cartridges at 750Ω, but I have different phono cables and a different phono-stage.

I’d say above is good advice. Although many cartridges will come with a spec sheet it is best to experiment as to what sounds best in your system to your ears. Different Ohm settings can help tame a bright top end or help bring it out among other things. You will not damage anything by experimenting outside of the spec.

Currently listening to my Delos through the NVC TT. Settings are 1kOhms and 2200pF. Sounds splendid playing the new Florence and the Machine LP.

Thanks for the info guys.

I’m listening today using these settings and I’m loving what I’m hearing so far.

The Delos is a wonderful cartridge. Difficult to find better for that price, for me of course.

I agree.

The Solstice sounded great before - with the Delos it sounds sublime!
