Gluing fronts on.
When you haven’t got clamps big enough… 20 Litre buckets of sand. I also use these to press on veneer.
Awesome. Cracking progress too! Can’t wait for your listening impressions!! They look very different to the set they are replacing
The parts cost twice as much as the last ones so I’m expecting them to be better. I just need my veneer to arrive now but that won’t be until next week. In the mean time I will install crossovers and internal wiring etc. they are just getting so heavy to move around. They are already over 50 kg each!
very impressive work
may I ask are those the same tweeters used in the Kudos 808s? If so how much do they cost?
david
If I read the source for the kit right the HF driver is a SEAS T29CF002
I think it is close. From what I have read, kudos use a modified version of the “legendary crescendo tweeter”, the one in this design is the crescendo. As
Mentioned above, the T29CF002. It could just be the face plate change but possibly more than that… It costs $650 AUD. (250 GBP). Probably more that that for the kudos modified replacement.
Looking good
That’s a pretty good price Mark. Surprising as in UK we hear about all sorts of price hikes for UK and European products when sold in US, Far East & Auz/NZ.
The price for that driver from UK speaker parts supplier Falcon Acoustics is £262.74 including tax.
You obviously haven’t just guessed at the shape and internal volume of these speakers, where are you getting your info from, as this is something I would love to have ago at when my woodworking skills improve.
Sorry I was listing the purchase price in both countries not the conversion. 262 GBP converts to 478 AUD. To buy it here is 650AUD. So as you say, a considerable hike unfortunately. It was cheaper for me to purchase them as part of the kit. So mine came directly from Jantzen Audio.
Not sure what I can post regarding websites but just google ‘Troels Gravesen speakers’ and you will find it. Im not sure id trust any other designs. I’ve heard 4/5 of his designs over the years and all very good and to my taste.
This particular one is the CNO4.
I would endorse Mark’s comments about Troel Gravesen’s loudspeakers. I have a pair of his floorstanders that are superb with my set up. I have no intention of replacing them and neither am I curious about other loudspeakers.
Before embarking on making any of his designs you should have a reasonable level of ability using hand and machine tools. I was fortunate in having access to a lazer cutter and CNC Milling machine but you clearly do not need either. Troels is very supportive and helpful if you take the plunge.

Nice speakers! I considered the Illumina 66 a few years back.
Cheers Mark.
I must confess making them was very enjoyable and satisfying.
Steve
I admire, I envy your talents … bravo !!
Thanks. Appreciated.
Backs painted black with 3 coats of oil based satin.
Amp modules installed. Ports in place and damping materials in bass cab.
Wow, they look so good, and the craftsmanship!
Some Aussie know how going on there, Love it.
Mario.
Cheers Mario.
