Luckily it was deemed not good enough to apply the required stuff …

I use a sable paint brush which is quite effective. Drive units are Scanspeak.

Lens cleaner blower squeezy thing with the little hairy dust remover thingy. I run it over my cds2 cd tray too. Careful not to touch the lens but it seems still to do a good job . Probably call it a lens cleaner I guess.
I would be a little bit cautious around sensitive bits though particularly with synthetic dusters can’t help but think electrostatic issues.

I use a soft bristle shaving brush - kept specially for the purpose of course. It’s great for all electronics, including speaker cones. They’re cheap, and very effective.
