good morning, I bought this Spectre cable from wha and it arrives to me perhaps in January before I had the Phantom I wanted to know which of you has made the same transition from Phantom to Specter and how does it sound compared to the Phantom? I’m very curious and anxious, thank you

The only Spectre out there at the moment is the pre-production version. Jan/Feb will be the first deliveries of the actual product.

Lots of people have however taken the plunge on spectre cables, myself included. We are all waiting until early 2023.

Yep, I have an order placed too, though I notice that some of the original endorsers have cancelled.
Its going to have to be a substantial uplift for me as my nac a5 runs under floorboards and the Spectre will have to lie on the surface, as I won’t be lifting floorboards.
I’ve purchased several Morgana cables and have been very pleased with them, so I couldn’t resist the temptation to try Spectre.

This is the latest update I’ve had from WH last week:
Shipping will follow our rigorous quality control procedures, including checks on banana plug, cosmetics, packaging and assembly processes. We expect all this will take a month so we should begin shipping in February.

I was tempted by their order now to receive before Christmas offer on morgana interconnects.
I doubt I will see it before then though, and didnt really expect to. Great products with a somewhat chaotic back office. They always seem to be waiting on parts and I am guessing a tendency to over promise and under deliver.
They are a decent bunch though and I’ve been very happy with everything I’ve had from them when it turns up…and is what I ordered

Yes similar design One can purchase Spectre with different connectors or even without connectors. Looking forward to the reviews.

To be fair, I have a friend who has just waited almost 12 months for his ND555, of which he wasn’t told at the point of sale.

I do like the observations about WHA. Great products, poor service, chaotic back office.
Ive only bought cables from them, but every time they have taken 6 weeks plus. Out of this, out of that. Really? How many components does it take to make a pair of cables. And just tell me it’ll be another week or so.
I like the bit about rigorous testing. I mean, what does that mean? Each pair cannot be subjected to anything more that visual inspection and continuity test and perhaps IR ?

In their defence, and with no commercial or personal connection with them whatsoever, my observation is that they offer great product, they do offer really good service - for example the number of really detailed discussions I’ve had with the technical folks there, and I mean serious stuff, and are modest about the product suite as well as offering and honouring their money back guarantee.
They do have supply chain issues, I’ve encountered those issues, but I know going in that with covid and global supply dislocation that is a high probability. I still like them and I like the product.
They are still a small company, they are as passionate about our hobby as we are, and are led or mentored by two individuals at least who were at Vereker-era naim and worked on products such as the NAT 02 and SBL. Bigger companies than them are struggling. I appreciate what they are trying to do and I want to encourage them. I’m sure all of the household names in this field went through this at one time.

Have they been able to start shipments in Phantom now?

I didn’t have the Phantom cables but have pre ordered the Spectre and last I heard they were shipping in late January. However realistically I’m not expecting them till late February I’d also rather they took their time and made sure they were right before shipping.
Not sure what I’m expecting in SQ and I will do some comparisons between my SL cables, what comes out on top will stay in my main system the other will be demoted to my Atom.

Currently using original Phantoms and awaiting Spectres.
I feel that one can always pay more from other companies if they become unhappy with the ship times on a WH product. I’ve never been unhappy with WH, though their ship times have been extended at times. I’ve also encountered next day ship-out. Small company with no ad budget and less overhead than the biggies means something has to give.
I feel my patience has been rewarded for my Phantoms and multiple Morganas. Can’t speak for anybody else, certainly.
