Had a shock this evening when I started playing music - these was heavy static / cracking noise and sounded like the tweeter was blown. Had the same experience with both the ND5 XS2 and the CD5si, so it felt like the problem was either the XS3 or the speakers.
After powering off the amp and letting it sit for around 5 minutes before re-starting it, the problem seems to have gone and now things sound normal.
I guess I should power off the XS3 now and again …
Maybe it is due for a service?
Is the mains power lead pushed in firmly?
Yes. Nothing was loose.
I’ve only had it for around 2 years, so probably not. Did experience some weird power issues a few nights ago - some lights in the apartment flickered once. So that might be the cause. I guess nothing to do now but keep a vigilant eye on the system since it seems okay at the moment.
The XS3 was only introduced in 2019, I think, so unlikely.

Maybe bad contact in a relay…
Maybe not a service but a repair(?) Hopefully it was just a loose connection but if it comes back it may be a component (eg capacitor) failing.
