That’s because they had twenty thousand rounds of ammunition, a cow for milk, a bunker that filters out nuclear fallout, food to last an ice age, and a well for water. But as soon as they went to the outhouse to squeeze one out they realized someone forgot to buy bog roll.
I daren’t say how many, but have just stocked up on a load of half price Lindt chocolate bunnies. All the emergency food you need!
We were in the supermarket last Sat and for the second week in a row, the cheese and meet counters were closed. No stock arriving at all.
My kids panicked and filled the basked with Terry’s Chocolate Oranges
Priorities.
I have stockpiled loads of records.
I have my priorities right, the cats have a larger stockpile of food than I do. A hungry and grumpy cat is much worse than being hungry yourself.
Fatten cats. Cook. Eat. Desperate times require desperate measures.
I have possibly watched too many things like Fallout and The Last Of Us.
Canned food and a shotgun

That’s a bit ott, just to open a few cans?
Very disappointed, & a little annoyed, that my post on this thread has been removed, presumably because someone objected to it.
It was supposed to be funny & I don’t imagine that somebody complained because they didn’t find it so.
Therefore someone must have complained that it was political. If this is/was the case then why has the thread not been closed? It was obviously started in response to a situation elsewhere in the world.
If it was you who objected, I feel sorry for you as you are clearly looking for offence, where I strongly feel, there is none. If you felt it was just not humorous that’s your prerogative & I obviously don’t object to that.
While I understand your frustration (it happens to me frequently by the way and I’m often sure the posts were well under the line), it’s never been reversed. Just move on and not take it personally.
I’ve not seen any posts here that were objectionable but I accept that how other people’s minds work is varied and accepting that is part of civilised society even if I think it’s bonkers at times.
As to the thread, the state of the world hadn’t occurred to me at all. It seems general and for me, natural disasters are distressingly frequent so emergency and disaster preparedness is just an every day conversation. Our kits don’t just contain food but helmets, wind up radios and lamps, portable toilet items (the horror!) and all of this needs to be checked and rotated. The next quake, blizzard, flood, typhoon is just around the corner. World events are pretty low on the list of things that spring to mind. Obviously they are always there but when someone says “stockpiling” I think first of disasters and the basics of food, shelter, communication.
