I expect that it’s quite common for many to never get the most out of the amps given the tendency for people going up the amp range before maximising the source first and then the pre-amp.

I can only relate my experiences with a CDX2 in a similar situation. If I were where you are I’d tend towards the 555PS before going 250DR to 300DR. The 300 did refine my system - I had Kudos C10s then so similar spec speakers to Tab Sigs - but the 555PS transformed my CDX2 and was an improvement of greater magnitude.

I have an Nds 555 dr, and before an XPS 2. I was a clear improvement, but not as huge as going from bare Cdx2 to Cdx2 / Xps2 I had before.
The OP has already an XPS dr. I will be very very expensive upgrade for little improvement, and the Proac tablette will not do completely justice to it also.
But from bare Ndx2, 555 dr is a huge uplift, I agree.
