Wonderful picture. Wonderful place. And for me, wonderful memories.
First visit to Oman was 1969, from the then Trucial States via Al Ain/Buraimi
Next was a couple of years in Salalah '72/'73
Then frequent visits to Muscat and along the coast from Ras al Hadd to The Emirates border, through till about 2000.
Last visit was to Muscat and Nizwa 2019
Crossed Jabal Akhdar from Rustaq to Al Hamra by foot c.'81
How things have developed …

I can only agree @Don. Oman is a very special place. Your adventures sound so evocative. I was lucky enough to be a guest of the Diwan of Royal Court last week; their hospitality was overwhelming.
Before our meetings I was taken to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat - and managed to snap the sunrise.
