Has anyone else noticed that the 4mm pins used by SL speaker cables tarnish where they do not fully seat home in Naim’s 250 series amplifier?
Any suggestions as to how to clean them?

Yes, they are silver plated, and silver tarnishes to a black colour. As long as the actual contact area is clean I wouldn’t worry about it.
I once cleaned some with a very fine abrasive. Personally I would avoid using any chemical cleaner.
I’ve heard from a cable manufacturer which I asked that silver tarnish on connectors are solely a visual defect and will not change its performance.
I would add from my own recent experience that cleaning the SL plugs with some IPA plus the speaker terminals with cotton bud & IPA did remove some black grime, presumably oxidation and I felt there was a small uplift in music clarity as a result. Probably something I’ll now do annually.
Tried a report to Naim Support but they no longer appear to issue ticket numbers automatically.

Mine become black and the cable become sticky also. Must be the humid climate.
Anyone know how to clean a sticky to the touch cable?
I know rubberised switches in cars become sticky over time and there are products available that allegedly re-harden the rubber/silica/whatever.
Not tried personally and no idea for SL or any other cables but seems a similar issue?
