Anybody out there with a Linn Ekstatik cartridge and a Naim Superline as I am interested in what loading plugs people are using?
Also, is the Ekstatik loading requirements the same or different to that of the Kandid?

Richard, I have just settled on a resistance of 576 ohms. The standard 500 produced a slight sibilance which is eliminated at 576 ohms. The Superline is powered by a Supercap.
Thanks for the info.
If it helps I just fitted the Naim upgraded capacitor and resistance to the Superline. All very clean.
I was at Sounds in York today to collect these. David mentioned that he had been at a client who was interested in the Ekstatic cartridge. Putting your handle and David’s anonymous reference made me wonder if the client was indeed you.
David installed mine two weeks ago
Pleased?
Yes very. The Kandid I had before was very nice but this is exquisite - so detailed. Enjoying it immensely.
Yes it was probably me, as David has been round to our place to demo the Ekstatik in our system
I used my existing 560 R (Z foil airplug cryo treated by AV Options) and it sounded mighty fine.
So much so that I have place an order for an Ekstatik.

I’ll be having one fitted in June. This month and the next being too hectic for the day trip to Leicester and back. Will stick with my 576 currently serving my Kandid as per advice from the LP12 guru. Quite excited after hearing the Ekstatik last year.
I know many people prefer and some retailers may recommend a 576R loading plug for the Superline with certain Lynn cartridges (Akiva, Kandid and now Ekstaik) but for me in my system I prefer the 560R. This is after comparing and living with both loading plugs through the years since purchasing my Superline back in 2008.
Since 2008 I have been running with initially an Akiva that I replaced with another Akiva in 2010 followed by my first Kandid in 2014 and my current one in 2019. As a side note, the Kandid is a fantastic cartridge and I continue to be delighted with its performance but it is time for a replacement.
As regards the 560 loading plug, I started with the standard Naim plug back in 2008, upgraded to an airplug in 2011, then an airplug with Z foil in 2012 and then finally a cryo treated Z foil airplug in 2015.
At each change of cartridge, I revisited the 576 but still came back to the 560. So I imagine I may revisit the 576 with an Ekstatik but I have no great burning itch to do so, at least at present!

260R, 276R or 560R, 576R? I’m guessing this is a typo?
I have both but tend to find myself ever so slightly preferring the 576R.
What i was thinking. Most Linn tend to like 576 ohm. I know they are not actually made by Linn,…
Ooops… my mistake, I meant 560R and 576R… don’t know what came over me!
I have corrected my posting above.

Just doing what you do with the wife’s birthday I expect! Easily done.
