Supernait 3 upgrade options

Mile_S - the oppp needs a video monitor or an TV screen to navigate the files as well.

Marcusman- I agree it’s not the best in resolution for streaming. I am planning on an upgrade. Not sure in what direction.

@Gracie.1 You have an excellent CDP there, I guess you know. I don’t recommend ever selling it. I sold my Linn Unidisk 1.1 a few years back, and still regret that. I almost replaced it with an Ayre cx5 because I had an Ayre amp at the time. Ayre is excellent kit.
Btw, thought you may want to know, ‘Caio’ is actualy spelled ‘Ciao’, as in Chee-ow. Just fyi …
Cheers.

Hello community! My Supernait 3 arrived today and so did the Naim DAC. I did a preliminary check to see if everything was accounted for. It was. I also have a FREE package coming by FedEx from AV Options. We’ve been communicating about my systemn and he’s given me some guidance. He also sending a care package with a Canare (4) Canare Digital Cable, 4 foot BNC> RCA with AVO deep cryogenicly -6 foot and a AV Options Tibia, Deep-Cryo AC Cable 6 feet. Looking forward to the setting. I’m feeling a little under the weather today so I don’t feel like unpacking it all. All of my speakers are boxed and cables are scattered. I’ll keep you posted.
Peace

Hi @Gracie.1 That’s great it all arrived OK. Only a hi-fi dealer would send you a care package of cables on a day when you are feeling under the weather! Good luck with the installation when you are able.

Looking forward to your thoughts on it! I’m on the verge of doing the same thing.

We are curious on your next impressions Gracie.
What will connect the Ndac, as you sold the Ayre?

Thank you - GeoffC! Thanks for the well wishes.

Thanks, nicksimon31 - only time will tell. Need to get set up, speaker placement and "learn how to connect Naim equipment. Unconventional, maybe?
Peace

frenchrooster - for now I’ll be using an Oppo BDP105D as the transport.

micksimon31 - The anticipation of all those boxes in their room is killing me! That’s why I’m up at 2:30 am answering emails!

Using a Oppo BDP105D as the transport, for now.

Interesting point. I’d ignored the hundreds of CDs I own for years (I ripped them all to FLAC in 2002), but lack of a streaming option currently means that I am revisiting the discs and really enjoying what I hear.

I have an old (but good) CD3.5 with a flatcap - any suggested CD options to pair well with the SN3?

A CD3.5 and Flatcap is probably up to fronting a Supernait. Only question would be the caps in the Flatcap, which would likely need servicing by now. I had the similar CD5 and Flatcap2 - a lovely sounding combo that while not the tightest or most resolving, made most CDs really enjoyable to listen to. In some respects it was like a junior CDS2 or 3.

Very helpful, thank you Richard. I’ve been a little vague on recapping, so I’ll make contact with NAIM and arrange a service. The CD itself was serviced a couple of years ago.

You can do a service and recap at Daran class A too. And Naim factory is very busy actually, due to Covid times……

Mr. M -Thank you very much!
Best regards -

Gentlemen- As you know I’m currently seeking upgrades as well. Power supplies for the Supernait 3. Found units from 2008/2009 era am I looking at a service soon, providing nothing simply fails?
Also in your humble opinion, wold the DIN 5 > 5 be better sonically than RCA Wireworld Eclipse 7?
