SuperUniti Preamp Output Not Working

Hi,

I’m trying to connect a recently purchased second hand 250DR to my SuperUniti running software version 4.8.

SuperUniti speaker outputs running fine, connect the preamp output to the 250DR and zilch. So perhaps the preamp output is disabled.

But my Superuniti screen is faded to illegibility and I can’t see anything on the Naim app to enable “External Out” or some such.

Richard Dane has previously posted for someone using one of the Nova platforms suggesting that a software update could disable external out and to make sure this is enabled, but nothing in the Naim App I can see for the SuperUniti.

The 250DR looks in decent nick and I sort of trust it, green logo lights up which is a huge boon to my welbeing.

Any thoughts? I’ve got a remote but no screen so if there’s a spanner related series of keystrokes to enable the external / preamp out please do tell.

Think that turns on pre out

Some have had success using a mobile phone camera screen in a dark room to read faded screens.

You can read your way through the menus on the user manual as well.

Good luck - adding a 250DR was our first step on the slippery upgrade slope. Made a huge difference (we have 4ohm speakers).

Ok I’ll have a go.

Press the spanner key on the remote.

Then on the four directional key in the middle of the remote, press down 3 times.

Then press ok. Then press ok a second time.

Now you have a list. It’s Internal only at the top, external in the middle and all outputs at the bottom. So assuming you must be on internal only, I suggest down arrow once then press ok, then press the spanner key twice to get out of the menu.

There’s a source on eBay, seller based in France, where you can get a replacement screen and instructions how to fit.
