Hello, I am wondering if Naim sn3 would be a good match with my Sonus Faber Electa Amator 3.
I also have Sonics Allegra by Joachim Gerhard.
Anyone tried this combination or something similar?
Thank you

« Hi all,
I indeed heart the Electa Amator III numerous times. Very (!) impressed. They are so easy on the ear and extremely well balanced. The AE’s also have the typical “silky” high; don’t know how SF did it, but the high frequencies are very special and never sharp. The match with Naim is (anyway for the whole SF product line) very good. Loudspeakers are so personal and everybody will have their judgement, but to my ears there is not much better at this price-point then the AE III or Nova Olympica III. Kudos or Vivid maybe.
The reason that I don’t own the AE III is that they didn’t exist yet when I bought my SF Olympica Nova III. I have considered an audition comparing them, but in the end it never happened. I think (wild guess) that my Nova might slight fit better in living room which is large,. However in a mid-size living room it wouldn’t suprise me the AE’s are a touch better.
In terms of amplification I do believe an SN3 will suite. Try to invest in your source; an NDX2 or better would be superb. »

Thank you for your insight.
So far I have tried, because it was easy to come by, Leben cx600 and Rega Aethos. To put it mildly, results were horrible. Leben was nice in some situations but horribly underpowered, on the other hand, Rega was very nervous and hard, they didn’t like each other very much.
So I thought about the Naim, and I can get a really good offer. And also, never had Naim, very curious about it.
Anyway, thank you once more and regards from Croatia.
Are these your speakers? If so, I’d suggest you look at something better than the Supernait 3. A 332/250 would be a much better fit.
I hope you don’t mind me correcting your English; it’s synergy.
In the end never auditioned the Electa Amator III at home on my own system (nowadays 552/ND555/300DR) … I am too happy with the NOVA Olympica III. Nevertheless, over the years I read great reviews on the Electa and some even prefer them over hte Nova (others prefer the Nova). Bottom line, a personal audition is the only way out. In terms of SN3; I wouldn’t doubt it can drive the Electa’s: it can
Cheers

Please do correct my English, you have to do the justice to every language. We live and learn.
Yes, these are my speakers.
At the moment I feel comfortable buying SN 3, I don’t wanna go much higher than that. I trust that 332/250 would be better but maybe a bit later in life. I am also not worried that SN wouldn’t be able to drive Electa, I would like to get that beautiful tone from them.
They reside in a medium sized room. 5 meters by 4, approximately.
Nova is a great, just recently I was listening to them first and afterwards Serafino G2, not a huge difference.
In fact, I feel that they are very similar. Electa is different in a way that it’s silkier and a bit more opened in a midrange. Electa is definitely not a all-rounder, that’s why I have two pairs of speakers.
Hello @Meridian, I can’t comment directly on your speakers with an SN3, but I run SF Olymipica II with a NAP250DR and they sound lovely. Super soft top end . I would take the leap and buy if you can’t audition.
From what I’ve been able to pick up so far, it seems like a really good thing to do.
Thank you…
But remember you have done the equivalent of going into a Catholic Church and asking the worshipers what’s the best religion.
Mind you it’s how I got into Naim so go figure.

I would try to avoid a speaker with bi-wire sockets, it just complicates things a little and are unnecessary in practice. If you are sticking with a stand-mount design then something like the NEAT Motive SX3 or new Petite Classic will match the SN3 exceptionally well. Easy to drive, easy to connect up and are supremely musical with a SN3.
OMG John…OMG…loool
That was hilarious on so many levels, you just made my day…
Yes, I am well aware of that!
If it worked for you, I might work for me to!
You have to be somewhere, so I may as well be in that Church too!
Amen to that!!!
God bless:)
