Something a little different, a view of my listening chair, and Viscoustics panels.i picked up a new pair of speakers yesterday too, Reference 3A Dulcet, not set up yet, but I will post some pics when they are.
We can forgive ‘big’!!!
I have to confess, I rather enjoyed it!
So a couple of days ago I finally installed the NAP 500 into the system in place of the 300. This involved a full strip down of the system and Fraim which turned out to be a great opportunity to give everything a well needed clean and dust!! Medium legs fitted and now made use of a couple of the spare standard Fraim shelves I had. This has also meant that the cable dressing has vastly improved with virtually nothing touching and the Super Lumina interconnect hanging freely whereas before I couldn’t prevent it touching the floor. I’ve hardly had a chance for a proper listen yet although have had a CD on repeat to get everything warmed up nicely since installation. Today’s the day I get a decent chance to put my feet up and enjoy!!
That looks like a really lovely system, Markah.
If I were to make a suggestion for a next move, I would consider adding a third Fraim base - this will allow you to reposition the LP12 - it might also sound much better being lower down. It will also cover the sockets and plugs.
By the way, two medium height shelves = 3 standard, so all that’s needed is a Fraim base…
Agreed, in the meantime I would put the PS underneath the CD555 one level down.
Thanks Richard. A third stack is out of the question I’m afraid as what you can’t see from the photos is a doorway just to the right of the plugs so there’s just no room. I have solid floors so at least that lessens the impact of any vibrations on the taller Fraim racks.
Ah, OK. What if you moved the stacks further along the wall slightly. That might give you enough space?
Lovely system, with very neat cable dressing. Must work on mine!
Bob Barker, Field of Dreams. Lovely picture. Nice to see another fan of his work. Met him while buying one of his paintings, thoroughly nice bloke and great to get the background for our painting and how he does his work.
Enjoy your listening session today.
Nice idea but it still wouldn’t work unfortunately - you’d be almost on top of the system as soon as you walked into the room!
Thanks Graeme. We have a few of his works, also we like Paul Horton and Peter Smith of the modern artists. This is our favourite piece though, every time we get close up we seem to find something new.
Beautiful system @markah.Hope you will enjoy the addition of the NAP500.What is the black box just above the NAP 500 head unit?
Looks like a Radikal to me.
Had a visit from Andy from Signals yesterday he rebuilt my Fraim, moving it out from the wall to make more room for the Musicworks G3 and the cables. He also replaced my 252/SC DR and NAP300 DR with a 552DR and NAP500 DR. They are ex dem but with brand new burndies and powerlines…i am really pleased with the sound of this system.
I’m sure you will get lots of joy from this beautiful system.
Out of interest what is the order of the power supplies?
Phil
Thanks @ jsaudio it is indeed a Linn Radikal power supply for the LP12 as Stuart suggested.
Fabulous - enjoy!!
i am very surprised that the new system pleases you
Enjoy. It looks super. What order are the PSs in.
Phil
Bottom left ps feeds the nd555, middle is the 552, and top ps is for the 500. Gives a better hang for cable routing etc according to Andy.
