Look’s nice, especially with that base. What is it and what impact has it had on the sound?
I had a piece of tempered glass cut at my local glazing company with bevelled edges, and bought three Naim cups and balls as used on the Fraim stands. I was concerned that the Nova was placed on a sideboard which is less than ideal but I am sceptical about equipment stands, however it really has made a difference. There seems to be a tighter, more detailed sound, not sure if it’s a placebo effect but it sounds pretty real to me.

Tony,
The guitar is a G&L Fallout. I started to learn several years ago but work & things got in the way of regular practice. Now that I have much more time on my hands I decided to give it another go, alas my engineers sausage fingers are less than ideal, but I’ll get there.

Thanks snarfy and Max. It‘s DIY-project many years ago. I have also build a cubbord for CD and Vinyl and some smal tables.
And also the bigger ship;-)
I noted exactly the same under my nova…
40th year of service and still playing tunes in style. Can’t complain about value for money for sure
Mr Tibbs
How do you find Thorens turntable? Is it TD-160?
It is the TD165 with TP11 arm and Shure V15 type 3 cartridge with JAS stylus. We bought it second hand from ebay initially and had it rewired and serviced by Northwest Analogue about seven or eight years ago. We like it very much. Northwest Analogue fitted the cartridge for us and it sounds pretty good. It’s built to last.
Gosh! Your desk looks like a bomb has hit it!
“If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, then what is an empty desk the sign of?”
I thought it looked quite tidy!
Me too!
Mark, ciao. I have a neatly, clean, ordered desk. And yet…
Max
There’s something so elegantly pleasing and satisfying about a Naim one box solution so beautifully presented.
Very nice @Dalmatian
snarfy’s desk looks much better than mine, particularly when I had my desk at work, which was a train wreck. Used to be so bad if some corporate big-shots were coming in, my manager would hurry over and ask me to make it look neat. Problem was, if I cleaned and tidied it up I couldn’t find a damned thing for a week…
Ironically, I keep my guitar work bench and tools very well organized and neat. Guess it shows what I care about (?)
Yes it does. And I very loudly agree with you.
A hug.

Like the look of those stand-mount Focals. Are they 1007be or 1008be?
These are 1008Be, very universal speakers.
I’ve heard them several times, including in a friend’s system. They can take a bit of setting up to avoid the beryllium tweeters sounding a bit ‘toppy’ but once that is achieved I think they are lovely speakers.
