System Pics 2019

Hi, its actually only a Rega P1 but heavily modded. Its an Onyx arm with an AT-VM95ML cart.

I thought it was the rp10 because of the white platter. However it looks nice.

Just bought new Fraim shelves for brawn stack. LP12 now had some nice upgrades with Kore, Cirkus and Dynavector 10X5 cart! Loving the improved sound with full Fraim. Top two shelves on each stack are Fraimlite.

Dan, it is a joy to see all three generations of Naim together in one system :+1:

Thank you so much @Annalogg. I’ve been building up my system over the last three years. I love the combination of the different Naim boxes.

Nice Atacama rack - looks like an SE? I have the SE2 which has curved sides to the shelves.

Very nice racks but quite a bit of DIY to build them - well worth it for the quality vs price though.

The Chrome Bumber kit looks great with Black Fraim uprights. :sunglasses:

Thanks @RackKit. It really shines now. Wish I had a six pack. Lol.

Very nice Neil, may I ask what size IsoAcoustics you have placed under the cdp (and amp ? ) and I assume you are obviously pleased with the results.

Cheers

I’m trying to get my six pack back too - gotta lay off the cakes & find more time for the gym & playing football! :grinning:

Chrome bumber kit is still the best looking kit Naim have done IMO.

If I had room for a 2nd system, it would CB with all Black Fraim. :sunglasses:

Hahahaha! It does look so much better on the Fraim. So you thinking 6 pack, 32.5 and HC all CB? Maybe an LP12 to match!

Only as a very long term project. :sunglasses:

Just got this installed this week in the ‘office’. A little more retro than Nigel’s. Nait 2 being fed by an AURALiC Aries Mini and an Amazon Echo Dot.

The Iotas and not particularly sensitive but the little chap does a good job of it.

Looks great fun.

Have you tried the speakers in both orientations - portrait and landscape? Any difference in SQ?

I must confess that I have not. I have not even tried the tweeter in the inside (I read somewhere that this made them sound too bright I believe). The system has only been up and running for 2 days so I am letting it settle.

I’m enjoying what I am hearing at present so no need to fiddle. And, as many will testify, madness lies that way.

Thanks. It brings a smile to my face and will hopefully make me want to spend more time in the ‘office’.

Nice! Glad you managed to find a tidy CB Nait2 (saw your ad on PF). How are you enjoying the Aries Mini in association with the Nait? Curious about these little streaming units (more so the control apps stability and user interface) and of late have been thinking about looking for a used Mini, or perhaps a Bluesound Node2 as a source for my CB Nait for a modest second system.

Hi Yeti.

I used to have CB Nait 2 as my main system fed by an Aries Mini so I know how capable the Mini is (I stupidly sold the Nait to fund an Exposure XM5 - regret. The CB Nait 2 was mint and serviced). The Mini and XM5 were then sold to fund an Atom which I am very contented with.

The Mini is very good at what it does. I have a SSD fitted internally so there is no need for a NAS (the Atom has an SSD plugged into its rear). It is very small and can be hidden away. The internal DAC is good but does perform better with a separate/improved power supply (I used to have AURALiC’s version). I have an iFi PS coming next week. The Mini is no longer on the AURALiC map so to speak so there maybe issues down the line but Xuanqian (CEO) is very good at getting things sorted, but will he continue to support the Mini? The platform be pretty stable as it is and the UI puts the Naim app to shame. Check Darko for thoughts on the BlueSound Node vs Mini.

So would I recommend that you get one? Yes! Easy to move on if you are not happy (got mine for a steal - £165).

The CB Nait 2 is not going anywhere this time (previously 2 CBS and 2 Olives) even if the ONIX OA21 Icon that is in order outperforms it.
