And you have to change the music for them…not stupid are they?
Life of riley!
Yes, my mistake- thinking of Roy George
the first one is relatively nice. The other two are average. Ugly perhaps not…
This room is totally ugly, everything about it is wrong, hope the hifi sounds good enough to make up for the carpet, blinds and 60’s wall unit
the carpet is ugly. I agree.
Roy Gregory listening room:
PS: Roy Gregory is an audio reviewer for Hifi plus magazine and Audio best site.
Never heard of him, I bow to your superior hifi knowledge and I’m sure his system/s sound good but as an architect I find his design, from his racks to his rooms, tasteless, plus no Naim kit, another fail
Why are you ironic Glasnaim? I have no superior audio knowledge. You miss my point i feel. I was reading a review by Roy Gregory in audio beat this afternoon and found these photos of his system.
I find it interesting to share in system pics, a person who has 3 systems in his house is not common.
As for lack of naim components, i don’t care really. I am not naimcentric.
Not ironic French, well at least I didn’t mean to be, apologies, my last point about lack of Naim was a joke. My reference to superior knowledge was only that I hadn’t heard of him.
Like the Naimcentric term though.
If someone, in France, says: “ i bow to your superior audio knowledge “, it means, in general, that he is laughing of me. Apparently, in english language, it is not the case…
The problem of different cultures …
I must also confess that i was a bit off topic with my photos. I should share specially my system or comment others . So i could be not understood as intended in my post.
No not laughing, just have never heard of the guy, a problem of internet conversations. Look on the bright side if I was trying to converse in French we really would be in trouble, hats off to you for communicating so well.
His design still sucks though. But no you are right share away, I was perhaps a bit harsh, it’s good to see what people invest in high end systems.
Hey Glassman, no real problem. Our conversation became positive, so it matters the most.
You are right, the system looks not the prettiest, but the stuff is of great value: vpi turntable, lyra connoisseur phono, kondo amps.
The racks are finite elemente ( on the right) and stillpoints on the left.
I personally like the look of the finite elemente rack, with wood platforms. Even if the whole system doesn’t look the nicest, i could without problem live with it.
Glassman, i remember now that you shared with me on cdb e liquid. I finally tried it and i am very pleased. It allows me to better sleep, without waking problems in the morning. No negative effects the next day. It costs around 30 euros for 10 ml ( cdb / 500). I used it in 3 weeks, so not so expensive.
Nice one frenchrooster, it’s very popular in UK vape shops, kind of growth area, glad it’s working out for you.
Thanks for those. Most interesting,
I met Roy in Dublin at a Hifi Show in the Burlington Hotel (now some faceless Hotel chain) a number of years back. We discussed turntables, which was interesting as there was very few at that show, all CD playback.
I’m also non Naim-centric, having just the NDS/555DR.
i liked, some years ago, to read his reviews on hifi plus magazine. But hifi plus changed today, became more commercial i think.
The audio beat online magazine is interesting to read, specially Roy reviews. He has a good knowledge in audio and good tastes.
My ex-girlfriend’s system. All equipment once owned by me.
System: CD5i, NAIT 3, Royd Minstrels
Regards,
Schizo
I understand that Roy & HiFi+ became too commercially associated with the manufacturers of the equipment being reviewing, thereby losing position as impartial reviews. However it is an commercial industry and manufacturers, publications & reviewers sometimes have to do whatever they must to stay in business.
So your ex-system of your ex-girlfriend? Ex-cellent.
Now that I’m not being goofy, I will say I have always been a Nait 3 fan, despite its apparent place as one of the less-loved Naim pieces through the years. Would love to have one for a second system if I can ever get my financial ship righted again.
