Try the “Watches” thread in the Padded Cell. Here’s the link;
It’s about quality, not quantity.
No problem Richard. However i posted only 2 posts on other systems.
I see HH as writing. I feel he will definitely stop me.
Reminds me of being at school…
FR, as the intention of this thread is for members to post pictures of their systems, if you wish to post about reviewer’s systems or systems featured elsewhere, then by all means please do so, but probably best start a new thread. It just stops this thread from veering off topic too far. (Which, ironically, by the very nature of this discussion we’re all having, instead of posting system pics, is happening anyway). Maybe just one of those days. Thanks.
Nice system Mark. Great speakers! I wonder which ones they are.
Chag -
no problem, i will not polute this so conservative thread. I don’t want to be burned! My God! I am sure that if the audio journalists had naim components, i would have received no negative comments.
For now i don’t really want to create a new thread, it was just 2 posts on audio journalists systems.
Peder, I dont think it is about forum conservativism at all. My understanding, which seems to be the majority view, was that this thread was aiming at pictures of forum members systems ( and at a stretch perhaps direct friends on occasion).
I guess, like many others, I have become “hard-wired” to this thinking and expectantly look forward to seeing these when viewing new posts. I always feel slightly underwhelmed ( and a little annoyed) when they are simply internet photos. Jmho.
Given there’s no restriction on starting a new thread, I dont see any reason for friction here…
You posted exactly what I was about to, albeit I’m not annoyed by it but would prefer it not to happen.
We can all search for pictures of exotic systems. For me this thread is implicitly for people on here to share their systems with like-minded people.
I understood very well all your comments. But, as i tried to explain, i posted systems of well known audio journalists, not just exotic systems found on the net. This forum is not very active, there were no posts since 8 days.
Perhaps you will thank me after, because this thread had not closed.
Welcome back to the forum Nigel.
Your expertise & to say nothing of ‘yourself’ has been sadly missed.
Is there a problem with your browser displaying images? I can see pictures of member’s systems posted every day for the past week.
i think you are right. I remember some days there was no post here for 8 days, as indicated on my ipad. I have also no notifications when a new post appears in systems pics. A bug?
just to prove again that i have something personal to show. Sorry for the persons i have annoyed.
my system few months before and now. I have sold my nice sme 20/2a turntable. Rega rp8 now, for very occasional lps listenings.
Richard,…The Problem…If we are to call it so ,it is that the rules of the thread did not stand in the first post of the thread.
Then it’s impossible to know what the “intentions” of this thread are.
Now the OP has clarified the rules that apply to the thread…Case Closed…!
/Peder🙂
Very nice indeed FR, including your new, not refurbished Cisco switch.
You can set your own notification preferences by choosing from the options at the bottom of the thread.
Welcome back - missed you!
As I’ve posted - we added a tt recently. I found going the Rega route rather satisfying in this regard. I got the factory setup (nice Rega cartridge installed by the factory, everything else factory-standard as Rega intend), Rega phono stage, Rega motor control (comes with the tt), and it’s all “plug and play.” You can do this up and down their range, from a P3 to an RP10 depending on what you want to spend and hear. All plug-n-play.
The ‘accessories’ aren’t expensive - a carbon brush, ZeroStat, bubble level, strobe. Well the one accessory that can get expensive is the record cleaning machine, but it need not.
JMHO = just my humble opinion
YMMV = your mileage may vary
…and I am very happy to hear that this tread will be returning to pictures of forum members systems!
Hopefully those interested can start a new thread and carry on with posting photos and comments of what they want to be viewing and discussions regarding other HiFi Systems.
Thank you Richard! …and welcome back HH, I do hope you were off having fun!
