Very nice Peter.
love the look of the Accuphase gear - and your space looks pretty tasty too
Hi, HH.
Quick question: when deciding on your current pair of speakers,
have you tried (or even put the hypothesis of) DB1 / DB3?
Can you (if you had the opportunity to hear them) explain to me the difference between them? Thanks in advanceâŚ
Sorry, I didnât consider them. A rear ported speaker wouldnât work near the wall. Iâm really not sure why ProAc have so many small monitors. The only other speaker I tried was the ATC 11, but I didnât like the looks.
I would like to speak up for the looks of ATC standmount speakers!
On top of which, they sound terrific
Personally I have some difficulty understanding which small details make it different.
And if they´re a big difference in practical termsâŚ
(Except for the mentioned rear port variable)
Thank you HH
Excellent speakers well made superb sound will not gloss over poor recording though good source components will bring out the best in them. Not fussy about placement I find ported speakers are too much in small to medium sized rooms. Low sensitivity such as ATC are easier to control volume level wise. I have demoed several 90 db speakers over the past 2 months and all I was doing was constantly altering the volume. The ATC scm 11, scm 19 and 40 were the only ones where I could turn the volume up to about 9.00 and not keep turning it down
Theyâre everywhere just be careful trying to split one.
Didnât think about that before.
Great shot Chris
Nice room but that painting kinda creeps me out.
Disagree here, the atc speakers with the curved cabinet are a thing of beauty
Itâs just baby food, nothing sinister at all. Spot the letter âGâ in there!
Itâs that picture of two pregnant women
Thatâs fine, itâs all subjective. The shape is fine, itâs more the colour. I wanted real wood but the cherry was a rather nasty brown that seemed to suck the life out of the room.
Didnât know we had so many Interior Designers on the forum!
If you think we all look at System Pics for the pictures of audio equipment âŚ
Hi opus, the painting is by a Danish artist called Michael Kvium, and we love his highly symbolic style. But like you it has proven highly controversial in the eyes of the beholder. I remember first time my wifeâs best friend saw it. It took her only 5 seconds to say: â Now thatâs seriously fucked up!â ATB Peter
