Is that the new Super Duper Lumina Burndy? May take quite a lot of massaging into place!

Hi Graham,

They are cables from a Canadian company called Gutwire. They are cold welded (high pressure crimping) so no solder is used and fitted with super grippy Furutech plugs.

On all power units I have Pure Cube power cable and on the S1 I have one X Cube. The uplift in clarity, PRaT, soundstage was immediate when added. This was further enhanced by putting Gutwire interconnects from LP12 and CD555 into the S1 (Gutwire Definitive) and another boost to everything was adding two ground cables to the S1.

Essentially the noise floor has been lowered each time Iā€™ve added their cables so you hear more of the music, and less of the noise that masks it. As I have already pointed out in another thread Iā€™m now realising the full potential of the S1 and how incredible it is, previously I was undewhelmed with itā€™s performance.

Pete

In comparison to the great cable that it replaced.

Must be a Powerline Plus?

I listen to classical mornings, jazz after dinner and usually explore new music during the day. The amatis make most tracks sound great though the system ruthlessly exposes poorly recorded music I purchased the 500 system 2 years ago and have enjoyed with mission 70ā€™s in a small apartment, B&W 804d2 s in large room which were replaced earlier this year with the amati and super lumina cables. I find little difference in the sound quality between qobuz, tidal and my own files on a nas. I recently purchased an innuos zen 3 which imo is a sonic upgrade, especially at lower volumes through the Amatis. I suspect the nd555 will be a terrific addition to your system. Keep us apprised.

Different types of music for different time , cool !
I demoed 804d3 with nova twice; i like the sound.

I mostly listen to classical and pure instruments (strings, cellos guitar, pianoā€¦ ) for about 70% + ļ¼Œ and other 30 % or less for vocals , deep house , jazz. Etc

Iā€™m very excited for my coming nd555.
I only listen my musics on tidal so far , so i only need a streamer. Whatā€™s innuos zen 3 do in your system ? For Storage musics ?

Have you try other speaker cables for 500 to Amati ? Is super lumia sounds the best to you? Doesnā€™t sounds thin right ?

I bought the innuos to replace the nas but am very happy with the improvement in sq and the innuos sense app.
I had nac a5 cables with the B&W 804ā€™s and connected them to the amatis for a listen before replacing with the super luminas. There was more detail and realism with the latter, but not a huge difference.

Whatā€™s nas ? I thought you use NDS as a streamer

Do you feel very satisfied with your system for classical musics ? Sounds like a live concert to you ?
I havenā€™t get a chance for demo 500 series from where I live

The nas is a hard computer drive which stores music files and is connected to my home network. Yes the nds is the streamer, though in my setup, Unless iā€™m mistaken, iā€™m using the innuos as the streamer and only the dac in the nds. The dac chip in the nds is the same one used in the nd555.

Iā€™m delighted with my system for classical listening, though I must admit i have not really explored the symphonic repetoire. Workin on itthough.

Cheers,

Peter

I got it , maybe because Nds is not as convenient as a streamer for new apps . So you use the dac in NDS and innuos as the streamer. Smart move to use the vantage in NDS , save money compare to upgrade to nd555.

Thatā€™s the most important part ! You have a amazing system , thanks for sharing peter

Nice! Looks like itā€™s a CR-5? How does it compare with your KX-1200?

To be honest - thereā€™s not much in it ! The Yamaha certainly punches above its weight

Getting thereā€¦

UServe moved off the rack, 552 on top, DSM/2 back in playā€¦

Sounding pretty damn good, and the vinyl sounds superb !

(demoed the Dynavector P75 Mk4, very good - canā€™t quite beat the Superline, however if I didnā€™t have a Superline it would prob be good enufā€¦)
