When are you getting your T808s Gazza, or is it the S1 first?
That’s what makes them so appealing. If my SBL’s ever give up, the 606’s are very high on my list of replacements.
I no longer have any Naim gear in my system, but still love the gear and this forum.
I now run Kharma DB7’s with Nagra electronics, but I recently stumbled across a guy on Audioshark running Naim into Kharma DB9’s. He actually runs that forum, and owns his own audio store in Florida. He used to run Naim into Harbeth 40.1’s, but switched over to the Kharma speakers…apparently a match made in heaven.
Here is a couple of photos of his room, plus another customer of his also runs Kharma DB9’s too.
House move when daughter flies the nest first……then see where we end up, life is too unpredictable.
Tell me about it!
I’ve experimented at length with mine, and they seem to work best 7 inches from the wall. Fantastic loudspeakers and highly recommended.
In this context, 7 inches is amazing.
Besides on this forum, I’ve never even seen Kudos speakers. They are not that common here. Until last week, at the Dutch Naim distributor when I delivered my boxes for service. They also distribute Kudos. As a two way monitor fan, I really liked the look of the 505s.
Great! Is that the oak finish?
Yes, oak. To match our doors, the rack etc.
I keep telling my wife the same thing. However she remains skeptical… apparently she’d prefer the Naim 800s. Having lived with the 400s for so long her interest in hifi has faded. Beginning to wonder if a pair Sabrina X might be a good compromise. I’m willing to give them a try for the common good.
I did the same! It’s embarrassing how many of the lines I know…
Hi Graeme, I’m sure your SBL’s will be good for many more years, but I think the 606s on the end of your system could make a very nice combination.
Certainly worth a demo if you get the chance, just incase…
Mr Tibbs
Ahhh those lovely Gale 401s. I loved those speakers and always wanted a pair to go with my Lecson ac1/ap1 amp.
Very nice room. How did you hang the panels on the sloping ceiling ?
Hi what is the sound stage like is their a good depth that close to wall. I am thinking of going for a pair of 707.
The soundstage is fine, and there is no bass ‘booming’. I have experimented and this distance seems optimal. The 707 is a larger cabinet though and I would definitely have a home demo. The owner of Kudos himself advised me that Titans work best without any toe-in and and quite forgiving/unfussy with regard to positioning.
Only one way to find out. Mrs G’s retiring soon(ish), mwahahahahaha!!!
That’s the spirit
